Public Engagement and Knowledge Exchange
The Sussex Baby Lab and Nature and Development Lab are always interested in working with non-academic organisations. There are lots of possible routes (funded or un-funded) for us to work together on projects that shed light on how babies and young children interact with their visual world. Here are some examples of Research projects and Media that the Sussex Baby Lab have contributed to.
Working outside of Academia
Welcoming babies to museums and galleries
This resource draws on research and museum practice to makes the case for babies’ inclusion in museum and gallery provision, and also provides insights and tips for achieving this. As part of this we collected head cam and eye-tracking data of babies looking at exhibitions and art work. We are now working with other Galleries and Museums who are interested in supporting, developing, or expanding their provision for babies. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like more information.

Etta Loves part funded a PhD researcher (Dr Philip McAdams) to carry out research into how babies perceive patterns and how preference for particular patterns develops.
